LONG ISLAND YOGA ASSOCIATION PRESENTS:

HATHA VINYASA YOGA, BHAKTI YOGA, THE POETRY OF RUMI, AND THE BURNING DESIRE (TAPAS) FOR UNION

PRESENTED BY:
Angela Strynkowski

WORKSHOP:This workshop will begin with a discussion of Hatha Vinyasa Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, and the poetry of Rumi, a Sufi Master and Saint from the 1200's. Rumi is the most widely read poet of our time; it has been said that he wrote his poetry to "turn people on to Union with the Beloved." Along with this discussion, there will be a brief discussion of some of the Yoga Sutras that relate to Hatha Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, and Tapas (the burning desire for Practice and Union). Also, with the help of Lisa Morris RYT-500, we will share the practice of chanting some of the Sutras so participants can deepen their understanding of these Sutras. Of course, there will be "an Angela Vinyasa Class!" The Vinyasa class and workshop will be suitable for all levels.

Angela is an E-RYT 200 who has been studying Ashtanga Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, and Sanskrit for 16 years. Angela has had the honor and opportunity to study with numerous Masters in these disciplines from all over the world. Angela has been teaching classes and workshops on Long Island for 7 1/2 years. Angela has also been conducting retreats for the last 2 1/2 years combining her extensive travel experience with her love of teaching yoga.
